Thoreau refused to pay taxes in 1846, based on his opposition to the Mexican War, and was later jailed (Abraham Lincoln and he were the only noted Americans who opposed this war). He described the event in this popular essay.

I loved this! But it gets cut off at 26:56 on my iPod. Maybe due to how the low quality MP3 was compressed.

I really enjoyed listening to this on my PC at home while painting. :) It was great. I could clearly hear every word spoken and was able to hear the whole thing. Great work!

she messed up quite a bit of times...i followed it with the actual essay, and many lines were skipped...but still great!
